Podland
A podcast player that respects your time. Built for iPhone by Newcastle Forge LLC.
Podland does one thing: it plays the podcasts you chose to subscribe to. It opens immediately, keeps working when you have no signal, and never asks you to make an account. Your subscriptions and playback position live on your phone, not on our servers — because we do not run any.
What it does
- Opens instantly. Cold launch lands in roughly 127 ms. There is no splash screen and no network round trip before you can press play.
- Works offline. Downloaded episodes play with no connection, inside a 500 MB storage budget that Podland manages so your phone does not fill up.
- No account. Nothing to sign up for, nothing to log into, no password to lose.
- Playback controls that matter. Adjustable speed, skip intervals from 10 seconds to a full minute, a volume boost for quiet recordings, and a sleep timer.
- No queue, no autoplay. When an episode ends, it ends. You choose what comes next.
What it deliberately does not do
Most podcast apps grow by adding surfaces that keep you inside them. Podland is built the other way around. There are no algorithmic recommendations, no discovery feed, no listening streaks or badges, no engagement notifications, and no analytics dashboard telling you how many hours you spent listening. We think that is a feature, and it is the main reason the app is as fast as it is.
